The topic of CBD for children is a controversial one. Though CBD has no psychoactive effects (it has such a small amount of THC that it is not powerful enough to), it is often regarded in the same vein as marijuana, so parents are apprehensive about giving it to their children. However, there is no evidence that CBD has any negative effects on a child’s psychoactivity, growth, or development. In fact, CBD has been shown to have great medicinal effects on children who suffer from conditions like ADHD, seizures, autism, epilepsy, and depression.

For example, Haley, a 10-year-old girl, suffered from about one hundred seizures every day. She had surgery, tried various diets, and went on medication in an effort to reduce the number of seizures. However, when her mom, Melissa, started giving Haley a dose of CBD oil with breakfast and dinner, the symptoms faded and medication was no longer necessary. Melissa said that it felt like she was finally able to meet her daughter without the haze of medication.

Charlotte Figi is a similar example. At five years old, she was unable to walk, talk, or feed herself because of Dravet Syndrome, a condition that causes extreme seizures and paralysis. After her parents found two doctors who were willing to treat Charlotte with CBD, the number of her seizures went down to only 2 or 3 a month. Charlotte learned to walk, ride a bike, speak, and feed herself following treatment. Now the specific strain of CBD oil that Charlotte used is called Charlotte’s Web and is sold to help other children across America.

In addition to real-world examples, there have been many pre-clinical studies that have shown that CBD oil is not harmful to children. Studies have been conducted to test the effect of CBD compared to medication for children with epilepsy. These studies have shown that CBD was, in fact, an effective and safe treatment.

Along with the medicinal properties that CBD has to offer to children with major health conditions, CBD also offers health benefits like boosts in vitamins and energy. Further, it offers improved digestion and heart health. CBD is also great for healthy skin, hair, and nails. It is great for both you and your child!

When considering CBD for your child, it is important to of course seek to consult with a doctor and ensure that it is the right choice. It is also important to be aware of the CBD oil you purchase: some have higher levels of THC than others.

However, CBD has improved the lives of many children in ways that prescribed medication has not. Its calming, soothing effects are natural and unparalleled and have the power to revolutionize the medicinal world.
